Hello all.
Forum newbie here, excuse me if this is a tired question, but...
I was wondering what folks out there are charging for labor per sq ft cost for construction of new, basic PT decks. Also, do you charge a separate fee for demo/ removal of old ones or include with your sq ft cost? Thanks

Getting 3 quotes from deck building contractors is recommended.
There are so many variables:
Deck Size
Shape
Deck Surround
Railing type
Stairway (s)
Charges are applied as a separate fee for demolition or removal of old decks.
$2 - $7 a sq ft is a stated book value for demolition of decks pending on if they are enclosed with other variables.
For building a Post and beam wood deck with a 12’ x 10’ size the book value amount
with 5/4" pressure treated plank is 9.77 Materials 8.05 Labor 17.82 per square foot total plus a 15% contingency and profit margin rate.
For a 12x10 deck size $4,000.00 should cover you in many areas for a basic pressure treated deck.
