Hello,

My wife and I are looking to sell our home to build a new one on a piece of land we purchased. Any tips you can give us for selling a home without a real estate agent?

There are a number of resources on the Internet. Doing a Google search for "buy owner" will present you with more opportunities than you can stomach.

I would also recommend finding a freelance web-designer in your area. They are a cost effective solution to design a basic website for your house. Put a sign with the website address in your front yard.

Promote the sale of your home at your business, in your social settings, with friends, family, etc. Even offer a "finder's fee" if someone brings a buyer to the table. In today's economic time, money motivates people to do things they normally wouldn't do.

Invest a few bucks with an attorney----he/she can provide you with a sample sales agreement which will include the clauses required by law and prudence to protect your interests----completely doable but does require some forethought and a little legal guidance to bring it off.

As a Realtor, I can say the best way to sell your house....price it for the market - other than stating the obvious: list with a Realtor :). Price overcomes all objections - in any market.
