Good Afternoon:

Please Help with this question and I have a couple more, I am a 1st year civil student and am looking for some help understanding these questions?

- A rectangular ditch having a cross-sectional arena of 24 sq ft(2.2m^2) is being excavated in clay. The soil angle of repose is 35degrees and its swell is 30%. Find the height and width of the triangular spoil bank that will result from the trench excavation.

..the first part is pretty easy...

the volume of 1m of the ditch is 2,2m³ , after excavating 2,2 x 1,3 (per meter).
The volume of a triangle with equal sides is width/2 x height.
The rest is a trigonometric calculation...but don´t ask me which formular to use....
