Well I had to knock down a house and build a new one when I was 18 years old. This was while I was working part time at a cemetery. Most of my work normally at the cemetery consisted of weeding and caulking graves, but my boss wanted us to fix up a house for the night watchman.
The house was old..really old. Apparently the walls contained asbestos which we spent a good week either knocking down or peeling the paint chips off of. My boss told us (me and the two other kids working on it) that we were "tough" and didn't need goggles or a mask. I know it was only a week, but being around that stuff for 8 hours a day for a solid 7 days in a closed area where you are breathing in the stuff is not safe in my opinion.
On top of that, I had numerous paint chips that entered my eye (I bled once from it). Believe it or not..it was the most fun summer I've ever had lol.
