fake ceilings

is there any certain way of making a fake roof other than that plastic and polystyrene crap so i can put some t&g boards up and put soe small circle ceiling light things in, is it made just the same way as a stud wall?

I'm not picking up what you're trying to do. Am I dense today?
The only thing I can think of is that you have a vaulted ceiling now and you want a flat ceiling with lights in it?

its my bedroom, whn you walk in, on the right at the top of the ceiling there is a curved bit along the top of the wall with a some sort of brace in the corner
