I'm installing paneling on the walls in my rec room, and am looking for ideas on door trim transition. We are doing more of the recessed paneling style, is 11/16" MDF, 46" tall and 40" wide, then with an inset 24" x 22" fame centered. with 3" stiles and 6" base. every thing has gone great but now we are really close to the doors, and haven't figured out how to do the door trim. we want to replace the standard door casing with new MDF to keep with "chunky" style. im looking for pictures or ideas. I don't know if it would look weird to have the door casing the same depth as the paneling next to it. I think it would end up blending in to the paneling too much.
heres a snapshot of the paneling, before paint,yes.http://sn135w.snt135.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=0&messageId=aca7122a-1278-11df-95d3-00215ad856c0&Aux=0|0|8CC749C98D2CF70||
PS, Google hasn't been much help!
Still trying to figure out the picture thing!!! i went to "go advanced " but do not see the manage attachments... i see the insert image, but only will take a URl, not a browse option... is photbucket pics okay?

Pic didn't make it for me. Click "go advanced" in the reply area and there's an image upload on the forum.
One way is to wrap the casing with a strip or other detail that steps out proud.

Try this,
"go advanced"
scroll down and click "manage attachments"
a popup will uhhh, popup, on the line "upload from your computer" click "browse"
wander around in your computer till you find the pic and hit "upload"
If you're still having trouble holler. All I know about computers is the top left corner seems to be the sweet spot :D

you do not want the door trim the same as the paneling what you can do is to but a bevel on the panel were it meet the door trim or bevel door trim to

Wireman, it came through for me. It is too wide for my screen. To be honest I'm not sure what the "correct" width is. I've got that pic as 1024 pixels wide, when I resize mine for forums I usually knock them down to under 600 wide.
Under "go advanced" I have a tab "Manage Attachments". When I click it a popup opens and I can browse and upload from my computer or upload from a URL. If you're not seeing all of that or if something is not working I'd like to know. It looks like you used image tags linked to photobucket? That's fine but when you upload a picture to the forum the picture is always with the thread no matter what happens to photobucket. That's why I try to upload most of mine, the pic and text are all in the same memory... somewhere out there.

Don, Okay, just to be clear, (this is gonna end up being a real hand holding session....) the "Go advanced" tab is once you have posted something, go back to that post, click "edit" then the middle button is "go advanced" right? That is where you’re talking about. Just want to make sure there isn’t some dumb misunderstanding here, like a tab at the top of the screen....
If what I have just said makes sense and is correct, my NEXT post will be a screen shot of what I see once i follow those directions, ( post, edit, go advanced) maybe then you could direct me to what I’m missing. Since I HAVE figured out how to post ridiculously large pictures imported from photobucket... :)

It looks like you are clicking "Post Reply"?
Just below where your screenshot ends, under "miscelaneous options", do you see "Manage Attachments" on your reply screen?
If so what do you see when you click that tab?

Good eye on the permissions.
Yup you caught me between edits, I'm scratching my head.
I've looked at your profile and nothing jumped out.
I've signed up as a new member and have the same screen you are seeing. I'm stumped, I'll PM Mr Wizard

Your membership status didn't automatically kick go up to full member when you got to 15 posts. I sure thought I had checked it earlier but must not have. Gremlins.... or probably just old carpenters :)
I can delete the thread but try something, you are the op, delete your first post.
