So, it goes like this...
I've been planning (for the past few months) on building a gable roof (20'x16') over an existing deck. A couple days ago, my wife says, "How much would it cost to have some put it on for us?" I said about double or more of the cost of the materials. She doesn't doubt that I can do it, she just is curious if there is really a savings (respectable trade off of my time to money). So I was wondering, what is the typical cost of gable roof of that size. Doesn't have to be exact, just an estimation. Be nice to have a break down of materials and labor.
Here are some of the details:
•Dimensions: 20' x 16'
•Total Span: 20'
•Pitch: 4:12
•Gable end is open (will be screened in)
•Attached to a 2 story house
•In rural Pennsylvania (if it's relevant) (suburb of Philadelphia)
•25 yr shingles
Bonus question:
My deck has a 1:36 slope. Should the roof mimic this or should the roof be level? I imagine the roof should be level, do to the ease of installation (not having to do extra cut's on materials to keep everything level). Will this look odd?
Thanks in advance!
