Minimum Pier Spacing for Ductwork

What minimum pier spacing should I be keeping in mind to allow metal rectangular (or circular) ductwork to pass in-between?

The area in question would be about 24 feet from the heatpump.

Here's the specific "problem":

I have a set of triple floor joists running perpendicular into another set of triple floor joists. Both will have 2x6 load-bearing walls above them. Where they intersect, I could run the CMU in-line (with the horizontal part of the letter "T"), but I would rather turn it 90 degrees (along the "vertical" part of the letter "T") so I have more support both ways. Problem is, there needs to be another CMU 2' away (along the "vertical" part of the letter "T", 24" from the horizontal part) to support an 8" vertical column above. If I turn the first CMU, this will reduce the space in-between to about 19" (figuring ~5" of CMU to either side of the triple joist).

Would 19" be enough space to pass a duct between 24' from the heat pump, or is that too tight?

Honestly, it will depend on what the HVAC system requires. If it requires a 24x24 duct you can redesign that to be, for instance, 18x32. Both have the same cross sectional area.
