We recently had a slab poured for our patio: 4" depth, with 4" compacted gravel beneath it. It cured in warm (70 - 80 degree) weather and was not covered. Four cracks have appeared in it running the entire width and depth of the patio. We are going to place expensive sandstone on it. Should we be concerned, and should we do anything to it prior to adding the stone?

Thanks, Jeff

It's not the best situation by any means.. but it should be ok. I would suggest an anti-fracture mat under the standstone to try and stop the cracks from coming through the stone and showing up in your grout joints.
