Here's a heads-up on a very short sale at Lowes and also being matched by the local Home Depot: All in-stock roofing shingles are buy 2, get 1 free (33% off/square).
If you have a roofing project to do in the near future, get there before close of business on Sunday, July 4th....the sooner the better. I bought a whole trailer load today, and I'm sure other people will be doing the same.
PS: remember to buy your shingles in multiples of 3 to maximize the deal.
