Hello, my wife and I have begun building an ICF home. I'm familiar with stick framing and finish work but have not been around much concrete foundation/footing work. I have a question about fill under the garage. Garage frost wall is almost 6', basment wall 9'4", and I was going to pour both at the same time, but realize getting fill and equipment to pack the fill in the garage area, which needs 5' of fill, will be difficult to do if the frost walls are poured. Should I erect the house walls and then bring fill over the garage footings leaving enough area on the inside to build the garage walls, then back fill the remaining area along the inside of the garage after the walls are built. Or do I build both basement walls and garage frost wall and then ramp the fill over the garage wall to get to the inside? How do most handle this? We have a lot of area to work with, excavation for footings was only 2' because of flood problems so our walls will be quite high above existing grade, fortunately, we're in the country and have lots of area to slope gently away from the house.

I would probably do it in 2 placements. House foundation first - then backfill/excavate/compact to the height of the garage footers.
