Default Water line on exterior wall

I am new to plumbing (very new) and had a few questions regarding an addition I am planning. I want to turn my back den into a kitchen so I'll need to bring water to the den, as well as sanitary. I am on a slab I have no access from below. I was wondering if I could tap into a nearby spigot to get water? And second, can I run that new line along an exterior wall to my new sink? I appreciate any help that I can get!

I would not run a water supply line on the exterior because too much can go wrong, such as freezing temps., someone busting open the pipe, etc. You need to run it in a conditioned space and keep it protected. Get creative if you can't run it in your walls or ceiling, build a decorative chase or hide it with moulding.

You will find PEX tubing much easier to run and it is essentially unharmed if it does freeze unlike copper.

First of all, thanks for the help! Secondly, would it be possible to run it along the chase I plan to build for the can lighting and then drop it down an exterior wall at the sink area (insulated along the exterior wall)? Also, how would you recommend connecting into my sanitary? The main sanitary main runs just outside the den so the tie-in shouldn't be a huge deal but would I need to rent a jackhammer? Thanks again for the help!

If you can build an exterior chase that is connected to your conditioned space can you make the tie in that way? Where are you? You can run the supply in your light chase, it is when you get to the exterior I don't like it exposed.

This is not true (the freezing part, yes it is a great product). PEX doesn't not always bust when it freezes, but it certainly can. I've seen it.
